As a certified mold inspector through MICRO since 2009 you can rely on us to give you an accurate, honest and thorough assessment. Mold can grow on a wet surface within 48-72 hours and can be toxic producing mycotoxins and allergens even if it isn’t black mold or black in color. If you can see visible mold or notice a musty odor, you should call us immediately. Our inspection process has been perfected over years of experience and we use state of the art equipment to identify any and all moisture problems. The inspection consists of visual walk through of the property examining areas throughout the home that our known moisture sources and areas of concern presented by the client. We make sure that we find the moisture intrusion by using state of the art hot thermal imaging, borescopes and other industry tools. If any air or surface testing is needed that will be performed as well. There are a few things that truly separate us from our competitors. Baker Restoration offers free mold inspections. We are family owned and operated and understand the importance of family safety. The owner performs all the inspections and is part of the mold remediation process. This way if you have any questions, you have direct access to the owner of the company. Finally, we offer air quality testing at the completion of every project. The testing samples are sent to an independent lab that has no affiliation with our company. They prepare a report stating if the samples have elevated levels of mold or do not have elevated levels of mold. The lab will also state what species of mold is present.

Mold Growth

Mold is everywhere and was put here to decompose organic materials. However, having microbial contamination, also known as mold, is not good for your home especially if you have large amounts of mold spores. Molds are prone to grow under sinks, around showers, near toilets, poorly ventilated attics, poorly ventilated crawlspaces and wet and damp basements. Mold can grow on a wet surface within 24-48 and its food sources consist of drywall, wood and even sometimes concrete foundation walls. Molds have tiny spores that allow mold to spread and grow in different areas of a property. These spores produce mycotoxins and different allergens. When moisture contacts the spores, mold begins to feed on the organic porous material. Again, since mold decomposes organic porous surfaces, it will eventually decay whatever area it is feeding on. This than becomes mold rot often found in wood framing, ceiling joists and the underside of roof sheathing. Over time mold can cause drywall to crumble, flooring to buckle and potentially lead to health problems ranging from asthma, allergies to even cognitive impairment. The longer mold is present in your home the more damage will occur. Don’t let mold damage your most valuable asset, your home.

Mold Remediation

Mold growth noticed in your home can be a serious and sometimes scary experience. Baker Restoration and Remodel are Certified Mold Remediation Contractors. We follow the guidelines set forth by IICRC S520 and S500 also known as The Guidelines for Professional Mold Remediation. These are the industry guidelines that must be followed by all professional mold remediation contractors. Part of our process includes state of the art negative air machines used in conjunction with containments and decontamination chambers when needed. Negative air machines are equipped with true hepa filters that clean the air at 99.97%. Since mold spores when disturbed spread in large numbers, the use of negative air machines is imperative. Containments assist with the prevention of cross contamination. Cross contamination is when mold spores from one area spread to different areas of the home. The worse thing to do is to make the mold infect the rest of the house more than it may have already. One of the rules outlined in the guidelines for professional mold remediation is that anything that can be physically removed should because mold has roots which than swim through whatever surface it is present on. This is why bleach does not work since it cannot remove the roots of the mold only remove the color making it appear as though the mold is gone. Structural surfaces can be treated with an anti-microbial that only a certified profession can purchase and should use. After the air has been cleaned, mold removed and areas throughout the home have been treated a exit air sample test with lab analysis is recommend to ensure the mold remediation was performed correctly and black mold is not present.

Choosing the right mold remediation professional is important. After two generations of mold removal experience you can rely on us to do the job right.
